why?
Why I chose to create this website?
- Because I can.
- I want to say things that, in my opinion, should be said.
- I want to change the world for the better.
Now, I understand how you might feel about my last statement, so let me clarify that: You might be misunderstanding the scale of changing the world that I personally mean.
I think of my website this way: If I can change mind and actions even of just one person – it makes a difference. No matter how small or big – but it does. I won’t lose anything even if I won’t succeed. So why not give it a try?
Why I named it “Ansurv”?
Back in the day when I created this website I thought that I’ll put my full focus only on privacy and security topics. That’s why “Ansurv” stood for “Anti-surveillance” originally. Name stayed but now it stands just for the name of this website.
Don’t get me wrong; I have not given up on these topics. There is just something more important that I want to talk about besides these two.
Why I started a website instead of giving my voice into the void of “social” media?
First of all, I hate “social” media. Why? Well…
- “Social” media is almost always (if not always) malware.
- Everything on “social” media feels- and is fake.
- Every interaction on “social” media is awkward or just straight up stupid.
- Censorship.
Even if I didn’t hate “social” media, website just simply gives you more freedom for self-expression that no algorithmic feed will ever give you.
Why this website is so empty? Where are my pretty neons and anime girls??
They are not there because:
- I’m minimalist.
- I focus on content – not on visuals.
Why this website doesn’t have any javascript nor cookies?
Simply because it doesn’t need to have them (nor I want them to be there).
Why I (me, creator of this website, Ansurv) chose to license this website under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0?
- To give you (the visitor of this website) freedom to copy, share and adapt my work.
- To have credit to myself (to me, creator of this website, Ansurv) if you (the visitor of this website) do any of those forementioned actions.
- I hate how everything is being monetized in this world. I won’t let it be my website!
- You will never hear “All rights reserved” from me!
Why did you (me, Ansurv) said something that I’m (you, the reader) not able to agree with? Why did you disapoint me in such way?
Don’t take it personally. If you really can’t agree with something that I said – don’t be offended and instead just move on. Maybe you agree with me later ;)
Why Hugo? (for now at least)
Because I like it and I got used to it. Also this Hugo Bear theme is cool :)
